&lt;p&gt;A PID is a personal identification number which is used to prove your identity - this is mainly used within Europe and supports the courier services with the delivery. Such examples are:&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;ul&gt;
&lt;li&gt;&lt;p&gt;DNI for Spanish citizens&lt;/p&gt;&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;&lt;p&gt;NIF for Portuguese citizens&lt;/p&gt;&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;&lt;p&gt;AMKA or AFM numbers for Greek citizens, or the PID numbers on newly issued ID cards (these are a 12-digit alphanumeric code)&lt;p&gt;&lt;/li&gt;
